Departmental Student Advisor and Teaching Assistants

Elle DSA

Bonjour! My name is Elle Bernas and I am so excited to serve as the DSA for the department of French and Francophone Studies!  I am from Grosse Pointe Woods Michigan, and I am a French and Philosophy double major with a concentration in critical theory. I studied abroad in Strasbourg, France last spring and I hope to return to France post-grad to teach before attending law school.

On campus I am super involved in athletics. I am the captain of the women’s soccer team and I serve as the president of our Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). I am also an intern with the admissions department, an interfaith student leader, and volunteer for the Young Adults Program and Special Olympics. Off campus, I am a judicial intern for Judge Bell of the 9th district court, civil trial division. I am the biggest fan of the French department, and I can’t wait to tell you about the wonderful things this department and major have to offer! Please let me know if you have any questions!
